Carrom scoring explained

Keep board results separate from the running total.

The published baseline

Under the cited Laws, the board winner earns points for the opponent’s remaining carrommen. A qualifying queen adds three; that credit stops once the winner already has 22 points.

Write a useful score note

Record the winner, pieces remaining, queen status and running score. Read the entry aloud before moving on.

Check the format first

The federation also publishes alternate formats. Confirm the event’s points target, board limit and queen provisions; do not assume every competition uses the same format.

Learning exercise

Create two imaginary board records and check your arithmetic with another player. Keep practice scores clearly labelled as examples.
